Calling all Kelowna entrepreneurs and golf-fanatics!

The Rene Bourgault Legacy Tournament will bring more than 140 professionals together to enjoy an afternoon on the green at MichaelBrook Golf Club on July 20th, 2018.

Participants who come to the event can expect to play nine holes of golf and to enjoy a delicious dinner.

All the money raised through ticket sales, the raffle and the auction are put towards the creation of a grant through Community Futures which will provide start-up funding for an exceptional young entrepreneur within the community.

The tournament honours the legacy of the former JCI member, Rene Bourgault, who passed away in a tragic accident almost three years ago.

Known for his ambitious demeanour and overall good nature, he initially created the tournament as a way to raise funds for the Kelowna Women's Shelter.

Since the accident, the tournament has been recreated to support young entrepreneurs who reflect the same ambitious behaviour as Bourgault.

A portion of the proceeds is also donated to help fund professional and entrepreneurial development programs for the local JCI members.

“It means a lot to me to see this event grow because of how much he impacted our community, I’d love to see everyone come out and support in doing the same,” said Lisa Bourgault, Rene’s sister and co-organizer of the event.

The event will also feature several chances for participants to win prizes - including a relaxing night at the Eldorado!

More than just a golf event, the day boasts opportunities for business professionals to network and engage with the community.
